This community has been dead for a while... I wanted to ask what your different Curves do for incentives. Our Curves is doing away with the Curves bucks at the end of this year... What are they going to do to try to motivate those that need the push of earning something? I went to a Curves in AZ that didn't seem to give out anything really and instead of Curves bucks, you paid real money for the items...

I'm giddy, I'm ecstatic, I'm fuchlempt. But the most important thing is...

I've lost TWELVE pounds and TEN AND A HALF inches since last month!

I have twenty-five more to go until I reach my goal.

Right now I'm 194, and I'd like to get to 175.

  Hello all,
I just joined this community a moment ago. I have been a member of curves for a little over a month. currently my first goal is to register on the scale. I'm quite big, but thats not going to bring me down. I'm just going to keep at it.
I'm 23, the mother of 2 wonderful kids (Rian 3, Kera 2). I am a stay at home mom and a freelance artist.

  Hi all! Losing the weight is getting easier, as long as I can stay away from pizza and oreo cookies, but I still need more support.

I think I posted the link to my site here before, but it wasn't quite ready for the public eye at that point. I encourage all of you to pay us a visit again and check everything out.

Hi All,

This is my first post in this community. I have been working out at Curves, and have lost (and kept off!) 35 pounds. I've actually lost 50, but 15 creeped back onto my stomach lately. :( I am starting the Curves diet tomorrow, and was wondering if anyone else was going to be doing that, cause I'd love support, encouragement, and success stories!

If you're interested (and tell me if this is against the rules), I mod a community called weightloss4god. It's kinda quiet now, so I'm trying to get people back in and chatting. Feel free to stop by!

  Today is 1 month since I've joined Curves.
I have lost an overall 6 inches and 1.2% of body fat.

So I had my second weigh in this morning:

Bust: 38 1/2 = No Change
Waist: 32 = -1/2 inch
Abdomen: 36 1/2 = -1 inch
Hips: 41 = No Change
Thighs: 24 1/2 = + 1/2 inch
Calves: 15 = No Change
Arms: 12 = No Change
Weight: 161 1/2# = -2#
Body Fat: 47# = -2#

So I lost 1 inch and 2 pounds, not too incredibly bad

  i have a bad lower back (slipped disk or something like that) and it seems every time i go to work out at curves, i wind up hurting and almost bed-ridden the few following days. i've tried mixing my workout up and avoiding the machines that stress the back, but doesn't seem to be working..

any of you guys have a similar issue? if so, how do you get exercise? i really want to get a strenuous workout but it's very hard to do with chronic back pain. i've found doing aerobic exercise doesn't hurt me so much, but i've read so many places that it's very important to include strength training in your regular workout. bah!

any and all comments will be appreciated :)

  I has my first month's weigh in one week ago today and I lost 5 pounds! I was quite excited. They measured that I also lost 10 inches but I don't believe that. Esp since a different person measured me this time around. But I don't know that I'll EVER really believe they measure in the exact same spots. But I'm happy with the pounds and the idea I prob lots a bit of inches!

Do all of your Curves have word puzzles throughout the week? I'd kinda like to post the ones we've had as a poll to see how many people can get them right and to share the puzzles we've had at ours.

Do your Curves have any sort of activities in which you can earn Curves bucks through the week?

Would you guys mind if I posted the ones I have as a poll or would you think it spam and delete the post?

They measured the wrong part of my bust the first time
Initial - today

Abdomen: 41 - 37 1/2
Hips: 42 1/4 - 41
Thighs 22 1/4 - 24 (the lady was unsure where I was originally measured)
Calves: 15 1/2 - 15
Arms: 12 - 12
Weight: 166 - 163 1/2
Body Fat %: 30.2 - 30.1

Mom had her first weigh in this morning. She was quite disappointed in only losing about a pound, she definately needs to have more patience and faith that this will work for her. I'm not remembering what all she said as far as her measurements, but she has lost some in most every area so far. I'm trying to encourage her and remind her that muscle weighs more than fat.

  Hi -
This is my first post in this community.
I joined Curves at the end of March & have become so addicted that I go every day! My first weigh in & measurements were not exactly thrilling (I lost three pounds & gained an inch on my chest), but I am still adamant about going.

So, what are some of all of your favorite things to do on the rest stations? I have found myself recently really getting into dancing to the music.

I'm so buzzed!

Today was my weigh-in day - and although I was out most of last week with a nasty UTI and head cold...

I still lost weight AND am now in the foot club!

My short-term goal is ten pounds by August, but long-term is to get to 150 lbs.

This is most definitely a step in the right direction.

Yesterday, my mom took my brother's girlfriend with us to Curves to get her started. When they were done with the weigh in and tour, they took her before picture... At that point I realized that they had forgotten to do mine so I mentioned it. The lady told me to go stand near the wall where she took Amanda's picture. As I was standing there, my mom yelled out that I should stick out my stomach and look miserable because that's how the beginning pictures are supposed to look. I jokingly stuck out my stomach and that's when the lady snapped the picture XD. So my beginning picture is going to be amusing.



Just curious, how many days a week do you ladies work out at Curves? My mom and I have been going 5 days (monday-friday) a week for the past 3 weeks.

I thought I would stop in and say "Hello ladies". I started Curves just under a month ago and I can already feel the difference in myself :D. My energy and motivation has increased immensely since I started working out, something I've needed for a while now. My first weigh in is the 19th and I'm really hoping that the inches I feel gone are real and not just my imagination.

My beginning weigh in:
Bust - 37
Waist - 33 3/4
Abdomen - 41
Hips - 42 1/4
Thighs - 22 1/4
Calves - 15 1/2
Arms - 12
Weight - 166
Height - 5'3"
Body fat % - 30.2

My first goal requires me to lose 17 1/2 inches and 26 pounds.

Our circle has the 3 pound weighted hula hoops, so I picked one up last week and did it for 5 minutes... the end result is a bruise across my left side that is still there. I have been considering getting one of those thermal belt things that they sell for $10 to see if that would help lessen the impact.

Another note, about the same time as I joined Curves, I completely cut soda out of my diet, so I'm sure that will have some effect on how many inches/pounds I end up losing in the long run :D.

Hey everyone,

Back from my 2 month weigh in. It was a bad month for me cause i have been stressed and i sorta backed off on working out for 2 weeks of the 4. But i still lost so im happy.

Heres the run down:

Bust- was 49.5 now 50.0 +.5
Waist- was 44.0 now 44.5 +.5
Abdomen- was 56.5 now 57.0 +.5
Hips- was 55.0 now 55.0 0
Thighs- was 32.5 now 30.5 -2
Arms- was 15.75 now 15.75 0

Weight- was 272.0 now 268.25 lost 3.75
Body Fat- was 47.10% now 46.8% now -0.30%

I think the reason for the gain in inches in just the upper body is the fact that im pmsing and bloating. Didnt realize that till she had started the measurements. But im still impressed by the fact that i lost any. I figured i would have gained this month.
